& wife Lisa Grainge
David and Lisa Grainge are revitalizing a 120-year-old church that serves several ethnic congregations in south Philadelphia. They minister to refugees in their community, and hope to see the current English-speaking congregation revived and enlarged. David and Lisa also serve the needs of their community by offering food and clothing distribution. They teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and provide refugees assistance in navigating the social services system.
The Grainges have served as InFaith field staff since 2012.
David has a B.A. in German (with minors in teaching and writing) from Middlebury College and an M.Div. from Grace Theological Seminary. For nine years he pastored the Millgrove Bible Church in Alden, New York, and he was previously the executive director of the Buffalo Christian Center in Buffalo, New York.
Lisa is a paralegal, a background that has greatly benefited her refugee assistance ministry.
David and Lisa were married in 1987. They have four biological and six adopted children.
We are a multi-ethnic, multi-congregational, evangelical church located in South Philadelphia. In addition to our English speaking congregation, SACC currently hosts congregations of Burmese (Karen and Chin), Central American, Congolese (African), Laotian, Nepali, and other ethnic origins. We are a gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, disciple-making church. We believeand teach the Bible as God’s Word from a doctrinally Reformed perspective and hold to many of the historic creeds. SACC is a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference.
Our neighborhood of South Philly is a diverse neighborhood with many cultures and ethnicities represented. God is bringing many of these groups together at our church. He is training us to be a welcoming, inclusive church. As we come together, we learn how to better serve each other while growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus.
we are engaged in supporting and empowering refugees that migrate to our local area.
